Oh this reminds me of a dream i was having, i was playing aoe2 and i think making new map, then i started with four scouts, i was like WTF but then i started exploring and the map just opens up so fast

Still not sure what map it was, maybe sme kind of jungled semi coastal map with pretty water and cliffs

Looking back on this thread, it seems that whilst there may be some half decent bonuses left out there, we don't have enough decent bonuses left to put together in a coherent group of 4-6 bonuses to benefit a new civ. The bonuses seem to fall into the following categories:

1. They've either already been used in the expansions.
2. They are very similar to those that already exist in AOC - it's almost duplicating existing bonuses.
3. They're underpowered and bordering on being pointless.
4. They're overpowered e.g. free ballistics.

Think of all the different types of bonuses you get:

Free techs - (Obviously also means instant and automatic) - Vik WB/HC, Turk LC + Hussar, Byz Town Watch etc
Free resources
Cheaper techs/units
Faster research/production
+1 per age (like Britons range)
No gold cost
Extra LOS
There are more but you get the point

Using these parameters there are only so many sensible but meaningful bonuses that can exist and I get the impression we've reached the limit.

well there are only so many stats/techs/possibilities in one game. they are bound to run out for bonusses at one point.

I just realized there isnt a single civ bonus or tech concerning petards.
Although I guess you could only do the usual, give extra armor, make cheaper, etc etc..
