New Expansion (Site Added 19 Sep)
Re: New Expansion (updated 28 Jul)
I just figured it'd be nice to see this as more than just some unneeded way to make India a spechul snowflake.

well i think it's important to make each civ unique; each has its own strengths and weaknesses. To add a unit to a civ and nerf it to keep it from being OP all because you don't want one particular civ to be "special" is a bit misguided. Huns have no houses, goths have +10 pop, koreans have turtles, viks have longboats, spanish have missionaries... everyone is a special snowflake.

^^
+1
Indians don't have knights line and their castle UU is shit.
Heavy camel upgrade itself takes forever and one more upgrade on top of it won't make a unit OP.

This paired with the Celts civilization bonus that grants 20% increased siege attack speed means that the Celts rams attack rate will increase by 40% when they have a Slav ally around. Yikes!

And don't forget that the Celts S.Workshop works 20% faster

Byzantines should get Imperial Camels too. When you think about it, the name just sounds right for the civ. Possibly Persia as well, Persia is supposed to be THE cavalry civ with every cavalry upgrade.08 Aug 2012, 04:51 GMT » Usic wrote:
Byzantines? Are you serious? They already have the best trash (arguably the best tech tree in the game). Not to mention the fact they have cheap camels. No way they get imp camels without having to nerf them some other way.
Byz dont have Bloodlines.

Byz dont have Bloodlines.
They also lack Blast Furnace.
I'm not seeing how this would outright break the civ.
If you wanted to give India a second UU, give them a Buddhist or Hindu Monk or holyman. I can find plenty about Hindu Priests in India, not as much about camelry.

Ok, then make your own expansion
The Imp camel is ONLY for Indians. Point
The old civilizations have his own advantages.

Well I agree with you on that.. not sure if camel was the best way to go, but I was speaking more generally about making each civ have its own unique feel. Anything we say on here is speculation as we can't really test in-game to check if is breaks a civ or not. I agree, India a second UU, particularly a Hindu monk, would make more sense. But if you think about Hinduism or Buddhism, neither religion has missionaries that try to convert others. How would you make them unique considering both are quite peaceful religions that don't believe in violence.
I don't think people need to relegate to making comments about making your own expansion pac. I think Usic's POV is legitimate and valid. It can be argued for or against.. just not sure if Byzantines should get imp camel. Maybe persia?

At first: Congrats Cysion and your team, great work!
Another suggestion:
Please make the Boyar, who has a high melee armour, weaker than the paladin, and give him a high p.-armour.
Because the graphics of the Boyar I saw yet have plate armour(plate armour isn't so much effective against melee weapons like chain armour, but a lot more effective against missiles; see the teutonic knight).
Additionally you can give them a bonus against archer(like the huskarl, but faster, a little bit stronger and more expensive) to counter Mangudais (or conquistators), also very good and superior mounted archers(or gunners).
Sorry about my English
, and apologize if you changed the boyar-graphic already.
