Delay when game start

i still have the problem..... for 1v1 fr people say the map on Skype and im like wtf my screen is still black for heaps of secs.
i have a geforce 550ti and cant find the gpu scale option in the nvdia controll panel

11 I lose a few seconds, but not many. Seems to be a common problem... And others clearly have it worse than I do. :$

sometimes its worse than others, like sometimes i dont get in game til 15-20-30 sec into it, but the game i just played i was in at 4-5 sec, not bad, i turned graphic detail to low tho, maybe that helped...wat u guys explain is too complicated for me

I did the gpu scaling thing, hopefull it'll shave off the 3-4 sec delay.

Other things u can try is, keep rec game folder clean, including multiplayer save folder. (Someone told me this helps once, idk if its true.)

Have ur desktop resolution the same as ur ingame resolution is 1280x1024 - dunno if this helps either since the game is 800x600 in start screen then switches on launch.

Honestly guys, the best solution for me was to resurrect my old 17inch monitor and only play aoc on it. Browsing the net and everything else is done on my 21inch, which has this start delay. I couldn't handle the GPU scaling for very long due to excessively high latency/lag as if you were playing on 2-3 fps (unrelated to the start delay).

How can I do this with AMD win 7?

If u want to change the options in grey (those 3 radio buttons), u need to do a trick

1 - Change your resolution to an smaller one (using windows options)
2- Now the buttons should be aviable, chose whatever u want, and do apply
3 - Revert your resolution to the original.

Using the 2nd option, u will be able of play without stretched. In my case, i play 1280x1024 on my 1920x1080 monitor, with black bars on the sides (aoc stretched in big monitors is very ugly, and very bad for speed/micro)

I think a 30 second delay before game starts is good...
You can see your civilization and the enemy (if random), look at the map and the layout, solves this problem of black screen etc...
