Well personally I see nothing wrong with using skype, I mean they couldve just turned chat settings in game to whoever they wanted anyway.

The thing that was wrong was the extent and duration they teamed. But they only thing wrong with that is there wasn't a better game to watch. Seems no one broke any rules.

Games like this should be played for fun, not cash, it probably would've been a higher quality and more exciting game in that case.

If I had any power in this, I would select 8 new players, which I know are about the same level (and on a normal level, say 2000/2100), and make them play a new match. Last guys cheated, why should they play again? Because they are the top players? 11
They didn't even try to hide it, because they can do anything, anyway, they are the top players. We need them! How will we keep living if we can idolatrate Daut anymore? AoC will die!!! 24

Anyways I hate the whole whining but the comment that TyRanT followed the rules are bull shit. Seriously there were no rule that a person could use cheats, but if for example Tim used hacks to win would you guys say: "Oh well there were no rules about cheating...".

So please anyone who wants to argue that TyRanT is cool because they didn't break the rules, please stfu.

This is the settings FFA should be played, created by Cycion in the following link

http://www.cysion.be/aocbox/?p=136#

All 8 players will have same name, and before starting game, they switch the host, so the host’s identity remains a secret too. Second host also switches the host so that noone would know who is who.

After game finishes, everybody will reveal their idendity and SURPRISE11. Its gonna be so much fun!!

NAME Game

Play a game where you know none of your allies or enemies. Forge alliances on the go and hope you made the right choice. Your identity is a secret well kept!

Settings

Game Type: Random Map
Map: Maps with (natural) borders. Open maps and Oasis are not so good.
Number of players: 5-8
Map Size: According to the players or bigger
Teams: FFA, Teams unlocked
Speed: Normal
Victory: Conquest

Rules

All players have the same name: “NAME”. Clients such as GameRanger or playing through LAN will make this possible. Before the game starts it’s best to switch host, so the host’s identity remains a secret too.
No more than 2 allies at any time in the game! Ending up with 2 vs 6 is not fun.
Keep your identity hidden at all costs!

Civilisations

All civilizations are good at NAME Games. It all depends on the map and how the game evolves.

Hints & Tips

Scouting: Scout all of the map! Knowing the lay of the land is important, and you don’t know where your ally will be in advance.
Trading: Trade is hard but may be handy. Try to have a clear view on the alliances when putting down a traderoute.
Players: It’s most fun to play this game with friends or known players. Trying to recognize your friends by their playstyle is often more fun than actually winning the game.

I suggest that they all make their nicks Carlos Ferdinand.

I was annoyed by the way the FFA went but was not upset. From my point of view Daut outsmarted everyone by getting 3 of the best players with the best civs to not attack him while he powered up and eventually destroyed them all. Take away the clan tags and he looks like a genius while viper dreams and jordan look like fools. I think it should be taken as a learning experience for the rest of tyrant. Teaming is smart if it helps you win but blind loyalty in FFA is stupid and not entertaining. If there is a rematch I hope the players play for their own personal glory and not the glory of a clan as this is a FFA and not a TG.

Well, how about creating a pool of 20 players, then draw 8 random players, and no one knows who is playing 11. It is impossible to make FFA unless the players are willing to play the game like a FFA, there will always be ways to make it easier for yourself.

If people are leaving because of this game, grow up. People that are nerdraging for 3 days over one single game grow up. People who played this FFA, you now know what people expect of FFA, and I dont think anyone would dare to make a team like that in a FFA again after the massive shitstorm it caused

The first time is usually never that much of a success, the quality of the tournaments have reached such a high level by now people expect it to be perfect even tho this was the first time a FFA tournament was hosted.

I hope we can see more games with this settings in the future with some more rules added.
