I just installed this file this morning and it did a couple of strange this to my AOC.
1. All icons on the mini map are grey, both friendly and enemy
2. Idle vils flash red on the mini map, which is pretty cool for late game when you forget about idle vils more often.
3. F4 or F11 (I cant remember which) doesnt display the score anymore, instead it displays your econ breakdown, number of choppers, sheppards, hunters, farmers, etc.

I like the last thing, I hope that can stay, but I do like to display the score so I can see when my opponent ages up. The colors on the mini map KILL me. I hope to change those back.

I doubt that this patch has anything to do with what happened to you - you just switched to "economic mini-map" mode In case you didn`t change your hotkeys, just press Alt + N to revert things back to standard map mode.

p.s. Check in-game tutorial campaign (William Wallace), there are some nice things to start with.

It is not a joke, lol, if I remember right they mention mini-map modes in there (but I`m not sure, played it looooong time ago)
