And whats the point of voting then, if u have final decision? I mean, the "nominated" mvp's will be the same always.

eg: No point voting on Daut, cuz he will be there for sure anyway

and if staff is gonna watch "a lot of rec" - as said - why they need my vote? cant they nominate by themselves?

its just sad the only smart post on the thread is simply ruled off by the great argument "ppl always find a way to complain". our community is great cuz there are always some smart people around who can fix everything with one dumb sentence.

WTF is wrong with comlaining man?! i mean come on.

and viper using chris in his sample stupid vote is just low.

I could say the same with Daut or anyone else with fanboys.

It is pretty obvious that at least 50% of the votes will be given by fanboys who havent even watch a small percentage of the games. This will be a prize for the one that deserves it, not the one that has the most fans. I think the idea is that the community can give votes along with clear arguments to why they vote the way they do, which is a good way to filter out all the votes based purely on player and not on performance. I do believe the staff will pick among the players that got the most sensible votes from the community.

And Vipers sample made completely sense, chris and daut are those players that would receive tons of votes regardless of performance, dont know why you would consider it mocking or anything.

Nothing is wrong with complaining. Finding mistakes/flaws in things always makes them better and it should be said.
But, it's also easy to just come into a discussion saying "no", "won't work", "that's stupid". If you think things are wrong, then at least say how you think things can be fixed.
You and pedega haven't really put any of your ideas/solutions into this and instead just "complained" about it and I think that's why this was said.

So basically the moderating team isnt taking any share in the managing stuff and giving their important time just for the community and only making prize pool bigger?(for the winners)
I think people only see the negative points no one in the community thought about this and these are rules guyz .If players who are analysed lets say like dagao doesnt have any problem ...then whats your problem with it ?

oh my bad i didnt readed carefully, having a team of staffs for analize the recs is really the right choice for something like this.

If u dont like it, u always have the decision not to participate

And according to me this comment from a tourney moderator was obnoxious when the person in the context have realised his mistake

ok good replies thank u all.

@viper: maybe i should have given u benefit of the doubt but i wasnt able todo so. it seemed to me u were subtly flaming chris. if its really not the case, pls accept my sincere apologies.

@jaraldo: i didnt give any ideas on the mvp matter but i surely gave ideas on the aoc community's bad habits regarding discussions. that was the subject of my post, not the mvp part. now i can talk about the mvp though. i dont think mods are qualified enough to pick the mvp. i personally have nothing against them and i dont know much about them either. i think mods should somehow covince the community that they are qualified to do this. otherwise, its inevitable that ppl like me keep complaining about this.

@quiller: i think i missed the part about giving reasons when voting. although i think voting with giving your reasoning for the vote is awesome, it still might not be possible for every user to do so. i think every man 1 vote is still better than the way ur proposing. theres the risk that there will be 2 mvps, mvp of the mods and mvp of the people. of which 50% are fanboys according to u quiller. i seriously think that is a direct insult to the community.

U right, and i apologyze, im sorry dogao i though u were saracastic (based on what u said when the staff was nominated).

Criticism its the best way to get feed back and improve but only if u keep ur criticism constructive. Its hard when everyone start complaining about everything u do.

Fair enough. Just for the sake of this thread, I'd rather stick to mvp topic. If you want to start one about the bad habits of aoc discussions just open a new topic :P .

I know others think the same as you also when it comes to us deciding MVP, so just so we start getting somewhere,
the question to you is:
What would convince you that the tournament staff are qualified to decide MVP?
